I Want To See You Dance Again

Photobucket

People keep hating on the Dolce Vita x Target collaboration, but I'm really digging this pair. I think I must buy them. The issue is now studded vs. not studded. (Knowing me, studded will probably win).

Honey, Honey, Up In The Trees

Photobucket

I woke up early to finish getting some stocking stuffers and toys for my sister at Target - convenient excuse, right?

I tried on pretty much everything from the Rodarte for Target line (other than the shorts and skirts which had no hanger appeal for me). I thought the nude tulle/slip dress might be cute if I cut the bows off, but the fit on it was absolutely horrifying. Not only did it make me look about 30 pounds heavier in every size I tried (XS, S, M), but it made my boobs look nightmarish - unacceptable! I haven't had much luck with fitting on the Go International! lines except for the Paul & Joe one a few years back. I ended up getting the mustard lace sweater pictured above, though. It was nicer in person that I expected. I liked the nude one, but I thought the color washed me out a bit. The grey cardigan/scarf combo was soft and comfy, but not worth almost $50, in my opinion. The bathing suits looked potentially cute, too, but it was too cold for me to be in the mood to try on bikinis.

But, Merry Christmas to me! :)

Did anyone else get Rodarte things today?

If It's True Won't You Tell Me Dear

So, these are the sneak peeks at the Rodarget line that I missed a couple weeks back. I have high hopes. Anna Sui/Gossip Girl was pretty disappointing.

When I'm Telling A Story And You Find It Boring

Photobucket
some Pam Hogg craziness

So, I bought some $6 leggings at Target... (not these obviously)
They're just plain black ones. Cotton, I guess?

They are SO LONG. I'm like 5'2" and they go a foot past, well, my foot...

Anyone have suggestions on hemming? I have no sewing machine. I could handsew, but I'm thinking maybe just cutting them or using double sided tape... Thoughts? I never thought leggings would be something I would have to worry about hemming. Always seemed like such a one-size-fits-all deal.

I'm Not Leaving 'Til Someone Plays Captain Beefheart!

Went to a friend's party last night. Was super in a rush getting ready so I didn't take outfit pics until I got home after. (Turns out 3 in the morning + dead camera battery = Mac photobooth pictures.) Anyway, most of my concerted efforts at looking presentable were directed toward hair and makeup, so unfortunately I was less than creative with the clothes. Pretty similar to what I wore to No Doubt. I had to look decent, be able to withstand Southern California heat and post-midnight chill factor, while keeping in mind that there was going to be a guy there I knew from high school that I didn't want hitting on me.

I figured out how to wave at my slightly shnockered self via the mirror... no comment.

cardigan - Target
cut up skirt from thrift store
lace top from thrift store
belt - gift (from Target I think)
black tank top underneath the lace bits from AA

This was the only way I could think to take a picture including my feet at the time
Clearly my room is still a mess.

from Urban Outfitters last summer

Hope you all had a good weekend!
