Finished my shredded up Raquel Allegra DIY shirt, I think... to the dismay of my roommate. She looked like she thought I should be institutionalized when she saw me working on it

"These are my new 'I don't need a job, I don't need my parents, I've got great boots' boots."

OK, so I do need my job and parents, but I'm super happy with my boots! I got the Madison Biker boots by Alice + Olivia x Payless and I am positively thrilled with them. They totally fit true to size, and they are so different from anything else I own. 100% no buyer's remorse on this one. I'm going to wear them to death this fall/winter (dealing with ANOTHER heat wave in LA right now...) and they are actually really comfortable! I was impressed. Wedges are usually good like that, but it is an inexpensive pair of shoes, so I had so hesitations.

It's weird, because just looking at these boots or describing them, these boots shouldn't be aesthetically pleasing at all. The snubbed toe bit doesn't seem like it should make for much of a flattering silhouette. For some reason it kind of works, though. I guess these boots are a little bit like pigs. They're weird looking, but we love them anyway.

Anyway, here are some awkwardly staged outfit pics for you guys. I still need to figure out the best way to arrange the self-timer thing in my new apartment... I think I've come to the conclusion that I need a tripod.

OK, sorry, but I have a one-track mind when it comes to shoes. If I want a pair, I REALLY want a pair. This is the last post I will do about these shoes until I start wearing them & posting outfits, I promise!!

Payless Alice + Olivia Madison biker boots are back in stock. I ordered them & hopefully they will fit!

Also, these JCs from Free People are sort of back in stock. They ship late September... I REALLY want them. Someone hide my credit card!

The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

So, at school I wanted to do this extra-credit volunteer project where you get to tutor local elementary school kids, but it filled up :( 

It's only the 4th day of school! I couldn't believe it.

While I was thinking about whether or not I wanted to drop the $$ on the Jeffrey Campbell Ann Demeulemeester look-a-likes at Free People, the black ones sold out in almost every size.

They still have other colors, but I don't love that the heel color doesn't match the uppers like the real Ann Ds.

Now THIS was ridiculous. I saw these online, so the next day I went to three Payless stores, none of which had them in stock yet. Two days later I go to buy them online... SOLD OUT. seriously? I'll still check in store, but how annoying?

So after all this nonsense I learned my lesson about striking while the iron is still hot, so to speak. Here are the Jeffrey Campbell Ann D wannabe boots. The size 6 boots had sold out in black and grey, so last night I jumped on these before the size 7s sold out, too. Got them in grey. They shipped this morning, so I'll post them when they arrive!

I'm glad I didn't let these get away - no buyer's remorse! :) Hopefully they'll be just as good in person.
