Last Night Or The Night Before That, I Won't Say Which Night

These are some of my most recent jewelry acquisitions (mostly through eBay) + wearing the matte black Zoya nail polish I got during their winter giveaway.

From left to right:

∞ silver Noir stud ring with an old silver band I've hand forever

∞ canoe shaped dead pawn Zuni (maybe... hard to tell with dead pawn, but inlaid work like this is often Zuni) silver and turquoise ring (I feel like it's 1920s since it feels kind of art deco...) - one of my favorite pieces

∞ another inlaid silver/turquoise ring

∞ on my right hand I have this round silver/turquoise ring (which frankly I am not even sure if this one is actual turquoise - probably acrylic, but I kinda like it - not terribly unique, though)

∞ then my absolute favorite, which is this super primitive/rustic ring that reminds me of a shield; this one is so funky (the shank's pretty crooked, too), I like to think that maybe it was made my someone who was first learning how to make jewelry - it's heavy and shows the natural stones beautifully

∞ and finally, a tiny silver band with green turquoise inlay

Just realized I forgot to take a picture of the awesome silver bracelet my aunt got me in India (it screws on and off instead of a traditional clasp) - I'll get around to that soon!

I've been in a bit of a funk lately and I haven't felt in a fashion blogging place, but I thought I'd at least share this:

This is a 1930s bathing suit that I came across online from one of my favorite vintage shops - Swift. I love the cutout and am going to use it as inspiration for a future knitting project. I'll let you know how that turns out (if and when I get a break from school stuff to knit finally!).

I got this dress on eBay for a STEAL from sistersoftheblackmoon. They sell great stuff, you should check out their store! Amazing vintage, although mostly in smaller sizes. I can't wait until my dress gets here. Especially since it might be an excuse to go shoe shopping.

I Don't Believe In Kings

Some people said they liked my outfit today (including a mildly creepy guy... hate that!), so here it is.

(I just moved in, so sorry about the paint splatters on the mirror! Once I get used to the new apartment, I'll find a better way to take pictures.)

My favorite part is that it's cheap!

This is a ring I was wearing today. It is one of my favorites... I got it out of one of those 50-cent machines from a pizza joint or something, years ago

It's The American Way

Thrift store haul:

clockwise from top left: 

- a very shoulder-pad-y navy blazer (pretty cliche thrift store fare, I'm surprised I didn't already own one), 

- silly 80s printed Alaska tourist shirt (probably going to get cut up into a tank), 

- Wet Seal bleached out jeans (which I considered just leaving as-is after I bought them since I have such trouble finding jeans that fit, but then I was like "Wait! Are we in 7th grade or something?" so I proceeded to make them into really slutty cut offs, & will stud them - I'll update on this soon), 

- black and white lacy tops (the kind best worn with a black bra - great minds think alike, but only if I can get out the house before my parents see - not something I thought I'd have to worry about at 20, sheesh), 

- a couple little purses (the one with the chain strap has leather woven through it thats sort of peeling, so I may have to cut it out and unweave it from the chain if it starts to bother me too much, but otherwise both are in decent condition),

- "No Cuffs Bail Bonds" t-shirt, which I have already incorporated into many mental outfits,

- Nine West oxfords that fit me like a peel on a banana (ie awesomely),

- shirt that reads Hindu Kush the World's Finest Since 1993 (too funny to resist, but so huge I might make it into a dress)

- an Pepto Bismol-y perfect Miami Vice/BH 90210 pink t-shirt by Lucky Brand that says Malibu Everyday Camp on it (pretty big on me, will probably be made into a tank)

Total damage: about $25.50. That's it. Afterward I went to Urban and spent more than that much on ONLY A HAT. 

Except mine is gray. It's cute, but I feel super guilty about the hat now, so I may return it. I'm going to look for a cheaper one on Abbot Kinney/Venice Boardwalk tomorrow.

eBaying

Procrastinating taking pictures of all the junk I have to sell on eBay for as long as possible, but I do have this vintage Betsey Johnson dress that is unfortunately too small for me that I am hoping will fetch a pretty penny what with this grunge revival going on lately. I'm hoping I can find another one on eBay for myself that actually FITS!!
