I Was Twenty-One Years When I Wrote This Song/I'm Twenty-Two Now, But I Won't Be For Long

1. Over winter break my friends and I had wanted to throw a sequin-themed party. Unfortunately, due to poor timing and busy schedules, it didn't happen.

2. A lot of my friends are turning 21 this year. This is the last landmark birthday in America (until 50, 65, 100 I guess) due to our strange alcohol-related laws.

3. I turn 21 this May. (I hope you see where I am going with this...)

Sorta sequined... Well, whatever, it's shiny and that's the point.

Again, it's shiny, so that works.

I intend to life the sequin-themed party idea and transpose it onto my 21st birthday. Hopefully.

I Was Waiting Down At The Ancient Gate

I truly feel like there is no need for me to elaborate much on this post. Navy, black, brown, tan, whatever. Mix plaid with plaid if you make it work. The only rule is to look good doing it.

I will say this, though - I don't think navy should count as a "neutral." I realize this picture isn't true navy, but still - technically speaking, I don't think navy counts as a neutral. But mix neutrals, wear navy, fear not! Whatev's, life's too short to give yourself a migraine when you get dressed.

This is my favorite! Tanned brown leather with a rustic belt on black. Tooled leather is even better! All the time, this is my favorite.

Similar. Throw in some charcoal. Charcoal/greys + black + brown/tan = outfit GOLD.

Rumi rockin' it. Which brings me on to the open toes with tights. Even this I am just barely starting to get used to myself. It has to be the right tights and the right open toed shoes. None of this crap:

Rumi posted these, and I'm really digging the Office ones on the far right, even though they aren't normally my thing. And my layout is totally going to cut this picture off in the middle of that pair, but I'll fix it later.
